The Pan-Asian E-Commerce was founded in July
2000 by CrimsonLogic (Singapore), TRADE-VAN Information Services
Co. (Taiwan), and TRADELINK Electronic Commerce Ltd (Hong Kong SAR).
In January 2001, two additional members joined the alliance. They
are China International Electronic Commerce Center, CIECC (China) and
Korea Trade Network (KTNET). The PAA now comprises six Founding Members
and three Ordinary Members.
The alliance aims to promote and provide secure, trusted, reliable
and value-adding IT infrastructure and facilities to enhance seamless
trade globally. Businesses from the participating countries can
look forward to uninterrupted cross-border trading, with ready acceptance
of cross-border approvals and certification policy, secure and reliable
paperless trade and transactions, and the convenience of working
with the Alliance as a single point of contact.
Combined membership of the parties now exceeds 120,000 organisations,
representing almost all active trading enterprises in the Asian
market.

China International Electronic Commerce Center, CIECC
CIECC is a direct affiliate agency of China Ministry of Foreign Trade & Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC). KTNET was founded in Dec. 1991, in order to help trading
companies increase their international competitiveness by
the Trade and Logistics automation system to reduce cost
and time trading businesses in Korea. Its paid-in capital
is $56 million, as of Nov 1998. In 1997, after several years
of development, KTNET completed The Trade Automation Service.
This service processes all trade-related business, from
foreign exchange, to customs clearance and logistics through
EDI (Electronic Data Interchange). All related government
agencies and trade companies including the Customs Service,
